AMAZING!!!i had lower back pain for 4 months, affecting my sleep, walking, and sitting. My first time ever going to a chiropractor yesterday. The ladies at he front desk are incredibly friendly, and helpful. Dr. Mauch did x-rays and then gave me a detailed review of my problem. He gave me an adjustment, and I slept like a log, with a sleep score of 89%, pain free getting out of bed, and walking around.I am so thrilled and thankful!!!This should be your only stop for a chiro in Durham!!!!Thank you Dr. Mauch...

Chiropractic Care F.A.Q.

Chiropractic care works by gently manipulating the spine and other joints to improve their alignment and function. By restoring proper joint mobility, chiropractic care can relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve overall wellness.

Yes, chiropractic care is a safe and non-invasive form of healthcare. Our licensed chiropractors have years of training and experience and use gentle techniques to ensure your safety and comfort.

Chiropractors primarily treat conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, such as back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and headaches. They may also provide care for issues like sports injuries, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and certain types of arthritis. Chiropractors take a holistic approach and consider the impact of spinal health on the entire body.
Chiropractors use a variety of techniques to treat patients, with the most common being spinal adjustments or manipulations. These adjustments involve applying controlled force to specific joints to restore proper alignment and mobility. Chiropractors may also use other therapies like soft tissue manipulation, stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, and lifestyle counseling.
The duration of a chiropractic treatment session varies depending on the complexity of the condition and the treatment plan. Initial consultations and examinations may take longer, typically ranging from 30 minutes to an hour. Subsequent treatment sessions usually last between 15 to 30 minutes, but this can vary based on individual needs.
The number of chiropractic sessions required depends on several factors, including the nature of the condition, its severity, and the individual’s response to treatment. Some patients experience relief after just a few sessions, while others may require ongoing care over an extended period. Chiropractors assess each patient’s progress and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.
Yes, chiropractic care can be used in conjunction with other treatments. Chiropractors often work alongside other healthcare professionals, such as medical doctors, physical therapists, and massage therapists, to provide comprehensive care. Collaborative approaches can help address multiple aspects of a patient’s condition and promote optimal healing.
Chiropractic adjustments are generally not painful. However, some patients may experience minor discomfort or soreness during or after an adjustment. This is usually temporary and resolves quickly. Chiropractors use various techniques to ensure patient comfort, and they can adjust their methods based on individual preferences and needs.
Chiropractic care is suitable for most people, including infants, children, adults, and seniors. However, certain conditions, such as fractures, severe osteoporosis, spinal infections, or certain cancers, may contraindicate or require modifications to the treatment. Chiropractors perform a thorough examination to determine if chiropractic care is appropriate for an individual.
Many insurance plans offer coverage for chiropractic care, but the extent of coverage may vary. It’s important to check with your insurance provider to understand the specific terms and limitations of your policy. Some chiropractors also offer flexible payment options or discounted packages for self-pay patients.
